Chapter 2103

There was a deep sorrow in Byron's eyes, mixed with a tender affection.

He continued, “We thought all three of you had died, but then we received a message saying you were sent to

an orphanage in Bysea.

When we looked into it, though, we found nothing.

His aging eyes glistened with unshed tears.

Stella listened quietly, her face calm.

After a moment, she asked softly, “So, my father is already gone?”

Her voice was gentle, almost fragile.

No one answered, but the silence told her everything.

Stella’s mind was a whirlwind of thoughts.

As she struggled to make sense of everything, the door to the ward swung open again.

Matthew entered, with Bella in tow.

Matthew's expression tightened as he quickly grasped what was happening.

A frown formed, clearly showing his discontent.

Bennett offered an apologetic smile.

“I'm sorry,” he said.

“When the two elders heard about Stella, they got really worried and insisted on coming to see her.

| couldn't refuse them.

As Bennett spoke, his gaze fell on Bella, who looked like Stella.

He hesitated, words caught in his throat, unsure of how to address Bella or how to explain everything.

Bella stood frozen, stunned by the sight before her.

She had learned about Stella’s ordeal from Matthew and had been anxious ever since.

Stella was all that mattered to her.

Without a second thought, Bella rushed to Stella's bedside, wrapping her arms around her tightly.

“This is my fault,” she said, her voice quivering.

“I didn’t protect you as | should have, and you had to suffer because of it.

My poor child.

Stella felt a wave of relief wash over her.

She gently patted Bella's back, her voice soft and soothing.

“I'm alright now.

Stella noticed the two elderly people hovering nearby, as if they wanted to speak but were holding back.

Considering that Bella’s memory hadn't fully returned, and given everything Bella had gone through, Stella

worried that too much information might overwhelm her.

Stella spoke up, turning to Bennett.

“Mr.

Lowell, maybe you should take them hfor now.

This is all happening so suddenly, and I think we all need stto process it.

The two elderly people lingered, their reluctance to leave clear.

Bennett caught on to what Stella was hinting at.

He gave a slight nod.

“I'll take them back to rest.

We'll cby another day.

But Bella felt something was off, a nagging feeling that they were hiding something from her.

“Hold on a minute,” she said, instinctively stopping them.

She turned to Stella, concern in her voice.

“What were you all just talking about?”
