Chapter 247 "Next time, I promise," Josephine said, feeling deeply guilty.
Ethan chuckled in amusement. "You're not even trying to sound sincere anymore, are you?" Josephine let out a helpless smile. "I'm just not in the mood for it now." Either Ethan's driving skills had improved, or he simply knew she was in a rush- he drove much faster this time. They arrived at the destination in under 30 minutes.
As the chief director, Josephine had every right to be late-but she never put on the airs of a big-shot director.
The moment she arrived, she sincerely apologized to everyone. To make up for it, she even transferred ten thousand dollars to the foreman and instructed him to distribute 500 dollars to each staff member as a token of appreciation.
With an apology given and a bonus received, the team's morale instantly soared! As soon as Josephine got into work mode, she completely pushed aside all thoughts of Zayn.
The production coordinator followed her closely, meticulously noting down every shooting location and the estimated number of scenes to be filmed.

Having worked with her twice before, the team was already in sync with her workflow.
Ethan, on the other hand lacking filming and too preoccupied with Josephine's expressions and mood-ended up making several rookie mistakes while posing for scene setups.
They worked tirelessly until nightfall yet had only completed a third of the work. Even so, Josephine remained fully immersed, showing no intention to stop. Noticing this, Ethan quietly exchanged a few words with the production coordinator.
A moment later, the coordinator spoke up, "Ms. Dunn, let's call it a day! It's almost 7:00 pm-we've been working for over seven hours without eating. We're starving here!" Slightly startled, Josephine glanced at the tbefore reluctantly agreeing, "Alright, let's wrap up for today. We'll continue tomorrow at 10:00 am." Cheers erupted from the crew. They immediately started making dinner plans sopting for barbecue, others for cheese fondue-but no one invited her.
She watched as they laughed and chatted in groups, a pang of envy rising in her chest.
Only after everyone had left and silence settled over the set did she finally sit down, unsure of where to go next. Just then, she felt something cool on her cheek.
Wiping it away, she realized-it was a tear.
She hadn't even noticed she was crying.
Since there was no one around, she figured she might as well let it all out.
But when she tried to sob, the tears wouldn't come.
Her chest ached, yet all she felt was numbness.
Тар.
