Chapter 299
Chapter 299:
As she spoke, Cedric’s eyes brightened, a trace of smugness mixed with a joy that was hard to describe. Daniela
couldn't help but find it amusing. Was he really that happy about it?
After finishing work, she went upstairs for dinner before packing a few clothes to return to her father’s place. By
the tshe cdownstairs, Cedric was already waiting by the car with his luggage in tow. Daniela sighed.
“Cedric, let's not complicate things. It’s not right for you to calong.”
Cedric knew it wasn't exactly appropriate, but as Alexander had pointed out, Daniela had money, and her
father’s villa didn’t hold much appeal for her. Why was she moving back there? Was there a danger he wasn’t

But in that moment, with his gaze lowered and his face relaxed, he appeared almost vulnerable, like a child
hoping for reassurance. Daniela gave him a helpless smile as she glanced his way.

Cedric thought back to how Lillian always teased Ryan with that playful, almost innocent charm.

expected to hear.
“I'm begging you!”
The driver overheard and, by accident, honked the horn several times. The sharp honking echoed through the
quiet underground parking lot.
Cedric, throwing all caution to the wind, added with a wry smile, “Now even the driver's laughing at me. How am
| supposed to face people if you don’t agree?”
Daniela watched him, unfazed by his supposed embarrassment, his cool demeanor still firmly in place.
With a sigh, she finally gave in.
“Alright, let's set srules.”
Cedric’s face brightened, his excitement obvious.

Daniela started, “First, if you're coming along, you're just my bodyguard. Unless I'm in real danger, you'll be out

“Deal!” Cedric agreed instantly.

Cedric’s brow furrowed in confusion.
“Why?”
