Chapter 327 She couldn't understand it: Why had Jasper wanted her to make the decision over whether or not to sign the sponsorship agreement for the Food Appreciation Contest? Did Edith Price use to do this for him? Willow thought long and hard..... but she simply couldn't figure out what Jasper was up to. He was an eccentric figure, capricious and confounding.

On tenterhooks the whole day, she somehow made it to the end of another work day. Jasper hadn't clooking for her again, which cas no small relief.

The very second that the clock reached the appointed time, Willow got up and left immediately, without waiting around for Jasper like she'd done on her first day.

First, she went to the mall to pick up that coat, and then she took the bus home.

On the bus, she took the coat out to have a look at it: Not bad, largely identical to the coat that Xavier had thrown over her, that time.

It was important to note that this particular item had barely cost her a hundred bucks-as opposed to a whopping thirty thousand for the genuine article! Willow felt a certain sense of accomplishment over her triumphant money-saving feat. Truly, the greatest value cfrom investing in one's own self.

As she made her way back to her apartment, she caught sight of two children engaged in an epic battle with a puppy dog.

The puppy stood a couple of paces away from the children, yapping up at them with great force and vigor, asserting itself as a ferocious beast.

The two children were both girls, both four years old.

The one in front, with the short hair and wearing overalls, was Lilith, holding out one arm protectively to keep Hailey behind herself. Hailey, with her pigtails and her chubby little face, clutched Lilith's shirt from behind, her knees knocking together with fright.

Lilith used herself to shield Hailey from danger. "Don't be scared, sis!" she cried out. "I'll protect you!" And then the little girl barked right back at the puppy, as loudly as she could, to establish her dominance in this stand-off.

It was adorable.

The puppy was instantly silenced by Lilith's aggressive display. With a whimper, it tucked its tail between its legs and ran over to a larger dog nearby. That was its mother, and the puppy nuzzled urgently against her flank, whining for succor. Its mother licked the top of its head affectionately in response.

Willow strode over to her children, chuckling with mirth from witnessing this scene.

Victorious, Lilith turned around to console Hailey, patting her gently on the back as she said, "Nothing to worry about. You're safe with me." "Hailey, Lilith!" Willow called out as she reached them. "What are the two of you doing out here? Where's grandma?" Hearing a familiar voice, both girls spun around and saw her. Their eyes lighting up with exuberance, they dashed over to her on a storm of little legs.

"Mommy!" "Mommy!" Both girls flung themselves at her, and Willow knelt down to catch one in each arm, planting a kiss on each of their tender little faces.

Ah, they were so cuddly, so cute... how wonderful to be welcomed hevery day by these precious little angels.

"Mommy, Lilith and I cdownstairs to throw away strash. Grandma's cooking up something good!" Hailey certainly seemed to be looking forward to something.

"Great. Something good to eat, tonight." Lifting up a child in each arm, Willow started up the staircase.

Entering the apartment, she was greeted by the delicious smell of cooked food. Having skippeddunch earlier, she'd already been starving all day long. The tantalizing aromas instantly caused her mouth to fill up with drool. She couldn't stand it.

Cóntent She hurried into the kitchen, washed her hands, and then got started on the food right away.

Lara emerged from the kitchen with

another platter of freshly cooked food, and caught her daughter wolfing down what was already out e op the table, what She frowned disapprovingly. "What a sight you are, gobbling it all away like that... as though you haven't eatemin a week!" "Not far from the truth: I missed lunch today," Willow mumbled around a mouthful of food.

"Very well, eat up then. Afterward, you'll have to go meet your aunt at the hospital. Your cousin Samantha is being discharged today, and you'll have to give them both a lift home." Willow was dismayed to hear this. "Why do I have to do that?!"

"Your company provided you with a em upan car, didn't they? Go pick them upan that fancy new car, and let them see that my Willow is doing just fine for my window herself! See if they'll turn their noses up at us anymore!" Lara still hadn't forgotten that day, when Samantha had shown off her expensive car to the whole village, and then mocked Lara's side of the family for having to take the train.
