Chapter 397 David Wasn't Giving You Trouble?
Boris was prepared and swiftly shut the door.
“Bang!”
The folder hit the door with a forceful thud, the sound reverberating down the hallway.
Boris shook his head. Damn, that was intense.
If that had landed on him instead, he wouldn’t have walked away unscathed.

Meanwhile, David stood by the massive window, staring out at the city below. Why was | the only one who saw
the problem?
Caroline and Boris both dismissed his concerns, thinking he was overreacting.
But David knew Cameron wasn’t a man to make casual business trips. He and Cameron were equals-both
powerful, both shrewd, both capable of seeing through pretenses.
If the situation were reversed-if he had flown all the way to Albaros just to meet slow-ranking employee,
had dinner with her, paid her unnecessary compliments, and then handed her a lucrative deal- there would
absolutely be a hidden agenda.
And Cameron's behavior was no different.

rivals... it won't end well for either side.”
But would Caroline really be the reason two of the most influential men in the industry turned against each
other?
That was the real question.
At the R&D Department.
Boris had just reached his office when Caroline approached him.
“Mr. Boris.”
“What's up?”
“It’s about my meeting with Mr. Cameron yesterday...”
“You did great,” Boris interrupted. “Cameron even complimented you.”
Caroline hesitated. “And... what about David?”
“Oh, I just spoke to him. He praised you too.”
Caroline stared at him, doubtful. “Are you sure?”
Boris nodded. “Would | lie to you?”
Caroline narrowed her eyes, finding it hard to believe.

David? Praising me?That seemed....highly unlikely.

Last night, he and Caroline had nearly erupted into a full-blown argument. The only reason it didn’t escalate was
because she had controlled her temper, unwilling to engage in a pointless fight. She didn’t want to drag
someone like Cameron into their personal matters.
“Mr. Boris, are you sure?” She pressed again. “David called you in first thing this morning. Wasn't it to give
you trouble?”
“Not at all,” Boris reassured her. “Relax.”
“Alright then...”
Boris suddenly remembered something. “By the way, Cameron mentioned selling us a batch of ginseng at a
special price. Is that true?”
Caroline nodded. “Yeah, he did.”
“Good. I'll handle the follow-up. Ginseng is expensive, so if we're adding it to skincare, we need to figure out the
best way to market it. Your job is to research how to maximize its appeal to customers.”
“Got it, Mr. Boris.”
“Great. Now go back to work-everything’s fine.”
Boris, on the other hand, was convinced that David was simply losing his mind. A man blinded by love could be

Cameron was an important client, a man of influence. Unless there was a real reason to sever ties, maintaining
good relations was a priority.
Caroline finally let out a breath of relief.
So everything was fine. So David wasn’t about to turn the company upside down over this.
At home, he was consumed by jealousy over Cameron. But in the office, he still knew how to keep personal
feelings out of business.
Feeling reassured, she returned to her desk.
She pulled out last night's dinner receipt and placed it on her desk, ready for reimbursement.
At that moment, Anna leaned in, catching a glimpse of the total.
“Wait... What did you buy... Oh my God! Is this for dining? Five thousand dollars?”
