Chapter139Penelope, You Carryin Your Heart "Penelope!" Kelvin yelled.
She smiled faintly, "I just want to say that what you're offering has never been what I wanted. You can't givewhat I truly want." What she demanded was a clear, honorable freedom for her father - an undeniable exoneration.
Not a "not guilty" verdict bought with Kelvin's affection for her.
Kelvin tugged at his tie, his Adam's apple working with frustration.
He couldn't give what she wanted? Ridiculous! He stood at the pinnacle of power, commanding the elements - how could he not give Penelope her heart's desire? But the truth was, he couldn't.
"Be reasonable, Penelope. Propose something I can agree to. Something that will benefit you. Don't aim too high too soon," he urged.
"I'm not full yet; I want to eat," Penelope stated, her gaze shifting downwards.
"I'll get you another meal." "I want to be discharged." She said further, "I want to go back to work." "Sure. Once you've recovered." She nodded silently, saying no more.
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the bandage on Kelvin's hand. She curled her lips in a mocking sneer. "Your hand... it would have been better if it were broken," her fingertip traced onto his palm, "It's just the blade was too small, not long enough." "Your mind is filled with venom," Kelvin remarked.
"Why did you stopfrom turning the blade on myself?" Kelvin caught her hand in a swift motion, pulling her forcefully into his embrace, his arms wrapped around her waist.

Their breath mingled, drawing them into an intimate closeness.
"Your life is in my hands. I saved you once, so you must stay alive," Kelvin declared with an authoritative tone that could instill fear in anyone. "Even if it means sacrificing myself, you will survive because I command it." Such a domineering statement.
Penelope gazed at the man before her; with his sharp, arching brows and stellar looks, he was undeniably handsome.
He was exceptional, powerful, and the dream lover of countless women.
If she had held any affection for him, those words would have undoubtedly stirred her heart.
But how could she possibly fall for him? A man who tore her family apart, who had her confined against her will, and the one who was responsible for the loss of her child...
How could there be any love? Despite any sparks of attraction, Penelope would never acknowledge them. Instead, she would suppress that glimmer of emotion with all her strength! For her, he was the devil that had fallen for her.
Could it be that she was meant to love a devilish man? Penelope turned her head away, refusing to look at Kelvin any longer.
Another glance, and she feared she would have succumbed! "Why won't you look at me?" Kelvin pressed, inching closer, breathing onto her cheek. "Penelope, deep down, you feel something for me, don't you?" Her denial was immediate: "Absolutely not!" "Then look into my eyes." "Look at you?" Penelope retorted defiantly. "I'm afraid that if I do, I might just... kill you!" A wry smile played on Kelvin's lips. "No, you couldn't. Even with the knife at my heart, you couldn't push it even an inch deep." His lips slowly approached: "So, Penelope, I am in your heart." "No-" Before the word was fully out of her mouth, his lips captured hers in a forceful kiss. Kelvin had timed it purposefully.
He waited for her to speak so he could easily slip through her defenses and deepen the kiss.
And now... Penelope sat astride his legs, completely at his mercy.

His hands began to wander restlessly.
"Kelvin, let go... mmph..." Penelope realized something was amiss and immediately struggled.
His body temperature was rising, and seated on his lap, she could feel the intense heat! She was dressed only in a hospital gown, and it would be all too easy for him to unfasten.
"I should truly indulge in you," Kelvin murmured against her lips, words slurring. "How much enchantment do you hold?" Every tthey kissed, Kelvin needed a cold shower to quell the heat surging through his body.
This twould be no different.
"Don't you dare," Penelope warned, hands pushing against his chest. "This is certainly not the place for your lust!" This was a hospital room! She had just undergone a procedure! "There's plenty of time. I'm in no rush," Kelvin said as he eyed her. "Opportunities will come." Penelope's reply was adamant: "There won't be any more opportunities. We're getting a divorce." "As long as I don't agree, you'll never be able to leave me." "Kelvin! You... you're shameless!" she cried.
His arms tightened around her waist, pulling her more firmly into his embrace. Whispering in her ear, he said, "And that's not all, Penelope. I want you to surrender towillingly." "Never!" she exclaimed.
"Oh, but you will, one day." The pads of Kelvin's fingers suddenly traced a small wound on her neck, gently stroking it back and forth.
The sensation tickled Penelope, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin. In the next moment, Kelvin's actions rendered her completely immobile...

Penelope had no choice but to tilt her head back, acutely aware of his movements.
Even worse, he om deliberately licked the wound, sending tremors through her body as she cried out imploringly, "Kelvin, please stop..."
"Sooner or later, Penelope, both your body and your heart will be mine," he In' declared, Kelvin lifted her, placed her back on the hospital bed, and then turned towards the bathroom for a cold shower to cool off.
Sitting there, Penelope's hand moved unconsciously to touch the wound on her neck as if his warmth and breath were still lingering. After a prolonged moment, she snapped out of it, bewildered by her actions.
What was she doing? Was she truly relishing that kiss? She must have lost her mind! Penelope quickly laid down and yanked the covers over herself, too embarrassed to face anyone.
Five minutes later, Kelvin emerged from the bathroom. She lay still, waiting for him to leave. But...
His footsteps could be heard as he approached her bed! Penelope's heart raced in panic-wasn't he leaving? 'Don't cany closer!' As fear often does, it invited the very thing she dreaded.
"Are you comfortable under there?" Kelvin's voice broke the silence. "Hm?" Penelope ignored him.
He waited a few seconds before reaching out to pull the cover off her.
"What are you doing!" she snapped, grabbing hold, "It's late. Shouldn't you go back home?" "I'm staying here tonight." What?! Penelope was momentarily shocked, loosening her grip on the blanket just long enough for Kelvin to flip it aside and shamelessly slide into the bed.
"Hey, hey, hey, Kelvin!" she protested, "What are you doing!" The hospital bed was small, with hardly enough space for one person.
Penelope was squeezed to the very edge.
He wrapped his arms around her, "Just like this, let's sleep." Penelope was speechless.
