Chapter 405 Manage the Company Sierra felt the coffee trickle down her throat and seep into her heart. Behind the cup, her eyes flashed with a cold glint.

Xavier opened his mouth, but no words cout. Gripping his hair in distress, he choked out, "I know everything you did was for Mom and me, but... he's still my dad. I saw him becthis way, but I....." When he learned that William would never live a normal life again, shock and pity washed over him. Yet beneath it all was a faint, shameful flicker of satisfaction. After all, in this condition, William would no longer be able to manage the company. Shaw Corporation would finally be his.

The guilt of that thought twisted inside him. To ease his conscience, he redirected the blonto someone else. William's stroke was caused by the debt collectors. The reason he was in debt in the first place was a scam. And who orchestrated that scam? None other than someone Sierra brought into the picture.

So, William's stroke was all because of Sierra! Xavier blamed Sierra, foolishly thinking he could find inner peace by placing the responsibility on her. He was in for a rude awakening.

Sierra was no doormat, and she certainly wasn't someone he could bully.

With a single sentence, she pierced through his pretense. The fragile peace between them, barely taking shape, fell apart instantly.

Setting down her coffee, she smirked. "What? You feel sorry for him now. If he hadn't ended up in the hospital, you would be the one there now." Confusion flickered across his face. She leaned back, her voice icy. "William lost a fortune. Where do you think he'd claw it back from?" "I'd never give him a cent. Theo would only offer resources. So if he wants money, there's only one way..." She let the words hang, allowing him to think it through. Watching the carefully constructed grief-stricken mask crack, a sharp satisfaction bloomed within her.

Just like his father-all righteous on the surface, rotten underneath.

The moment things went wrong, he shifted the blame. The moment his interests were at risk, his true nature showed. Theo was right-Vera could never be entrusted to a man like him.

Any lingering doubt Sierra might have harbored vanished, replaced by an unyielding resolve. Her presence grew even more commanding. Without full authority over company, Xavier was ce overwhelmed. He couldn't muster the courage to look her ifthe eye.

Despite his earlier smooth talk, he couldn't help but think to himself after hearing Sierra's words. "Thank goodness Dad is completely done for!" If William had returned as CEO, all his scheming would've been for nothing.

Even with Sierra and Theo's support, taking over the company wouldn't be the end of his struggles. He would still face a brutal showdown with William. This outcwas far better! Sierra smirked coldly. "That's right. I see you've figured it out." She pulled out the contracts that had been previously given by the Brown family from her bag. "Take a look at these projects. Assign someone to take them over as soon as possible."

Xavier eyed her suspiciously but took m the stack of papers and began flipping through them. The more he read, the brighter his eyes gleamed. Any thought of his hospitalized father was long forgotten. "These projects are highly profitable. How did you secure them?"

She offered no reply, her eyes holding a smile that didn't quite reach their depths. Her tone remained even as she spoke. "Put your best effort into the project. Feel free to reach out if anything comes up." Of course, even if there were company matters he didn't want her to know about, it wouldn't be possible to hide them. After all, not everyone in the company was loyal to him! She harbored a deep-seated distrust for her younger brother. The

accusations leveled today only strengthened her belief. Xavier and Xavier a William were cut from the scloth. She would never again hand power-or leverage-to men like that.
