His clear voice sounded again. "Then, you're afraid to see me. Is it because of what I said yesterday? Did I scare you?" She bit her lips lightly, her palms damp with nervous sweat. She replied softly, "I've already forgotten what you said yesterday. I'm really just tired from practicing and want to rest at home." Her tone was evasive.
She was rejecting him.
"Since you're tired, rest well then." Theo looked up at the woman standing on the balcony with dark eyes.
He pressed his lips together, and when he spoke again, his voice was slightly hoarse. The hoarseness in his voice only added to his originally raspy voice, making her heart skip a beat.
Her body tensed, and she quickly suggested, "Uncle Theo, you should go hand have dinner too. Rest well." "Uncle Theo, my phone's about to die. I'll end the call now," she said flusteredly before quickly ending the call. She clutched the phone to her chest, feeling her heartbeat O accelerate uncontrollably.
She looked down and saw that Theo had his car window rolled down. For a moment, she felt as if she had met his gaze.
